Course description
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CРE) is Cambridge ESOL's most advanced exam. It is designed for people who use English for professional or study purposes. To take this exam you should be able to advise on, or talk about complex or sensitive issues, understand the finer points of documents, correspondence and reports in English.

Exam structure
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CРE) has 5 parts:
Reading: you will have to understand the meaning of written English at different levels (word, sentence, paragraph and whole text).
Writing: you will have to produce different items such as a short story, a letter, an article, a report or a composition, each of about 300—350 words.
Listening: you will need to understand the meaning of a range of spoken material, including lectures, news programmes and public announcements.
Use of English: you will be given tasks which show how well you can control your grammar and vocabulary and how well you can summarise information.
Speaking: you will be tested on your ability to participate in different types of interaction (with the examiner, another candidate and by yourself).
What you will have at the end of the course:understand with ease almost everything you read and hear; talk about complex and sensitive issues easily; express yourself precisely and fluently; make accurate notes during a presentation; understand colloquial words and phrases.
Advantages of taking CPE:a CPE certificate is valid for life; CPE is a truly international exam, recognised by hundreds of employers as a proof of proficiency in English and also by universities and colleges as a proof of ability to study in English to undergraduate level; companies such as Coca-Cola, IBM, Nestle, Sony, Procter & Gamble and Nokia recognise the value of CPE in their overseas offices.
Course duration
1 academic year (2 semesters) – 200 academic hours of class work and the same number of hours of independent work.
Completion document: the University of Cambridge Certificate Certificate of Proficiency in English (CРE); Certificate of advanced training.
Time-table: twice a week at 19.00. Each lesson lasts 3 academic hours.
